❋ Participatory Budgeting
In Cambridge every year, all people ages 13+ can vote on how to spend $1,000,000 on public projects. This process is called Participatory Budgeting and helps get people of all ages involved in the community and gets young teens excited about the voting process!

I was tasked with redesigning the PB logo to appear both more professional and more on brand with the goals of the team. PB is about getting ideas from the public and then having everyone vote for the best projects. This focuses on ideas and participation. With this in mind, I decided to combine the lightbulb and a pencil to represent this type of ideation and participation. I also went for a less rounded font to create a cleaner look.
After creating the logo, I continued to collaborate with the PB Specialist to design patterns, merchandise, mailers and a trash bin!
❋ 2022 - 2023 Election Materials
Every year the Cambridge Election Commission helps promote and explain the process of voting in local, state, and presidential elections, respectively. Along with creating a consistent brand identity for the elections in 2022, I have continued to create and update flyers every year.
After looking at a lot of different election material, I settled on a red, white, and blue palette with stars and a sillouette of the Cambridge skyline. The look of the title was meant to mimic a banner hanging down on to the rest of the document.
I also became familiar with how to set up indesign files and QR codes for translated documents. This is vital information for all citizens, so Cambridge chooses to translate these mailers into 8 different languages (including English). These documents are also screen reader friendly, so everyone can access them!
